Established since July 2007, PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk (later stated as “the Company”) is operated in general trading business, including supermarket and minimarket business.
At the establishment, the Company was named PT Midimart Utama with the first outlet named ‘Alfamidi’ at Jalan Garuda, Central Jakarta. In 2008, the name of PT Midimart Utama changed into PT Midi Utama Indonesia. In 2010, the Company executed a significant Initial Public Offering (IPO) at Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) with ticker code MIDI. The Company’s business continues to grow, targeting middleclass consumers through Alfamidi outlets which were developed with the concept of a minimarket. As part of one of the biggest retail networks in Indonesia, The Company is also supported by an extensive distribution and marketing network that can reach customers throughout Indonesia.
Alfamidi offers a new shopping experience to customers with a wide selection of goods according to their needs. Alfamidi outlets also designed to follow changes in consumer spending patterns from monthly shopping to weekly shopping. To provide a shopping experience that exceeds customer expectations, Alfamidi outlets also placed in strategic locations and supported by various facilities such as adequate parking lots.
In 2015, the Company presented ‘Alfasupermarket’ as a refinement of its Alfamidi outlets with a new concept designed as a supermarket with more than 500 square meters sales area. Alfasupermarket present to match customer needs by providing a complete assortment supported by a competitive marketing strategy. In 2016, to strengthen the brand image and brand awareness of the Alfamidi brand, the Company rebranded the Alfasupermarket brand to ‘Alfamidi super’.
In 2018, the Company established a new subsidiary of PT Lancar Wiguna Sejahtera, which is engaged in convenience store business by operating the ‘Lawson’ network. The purpose of establishing the Subsidiary is to encourage the development of a more focused and optimized Lawson network in its performance and is expected to provide benefits for increased profitability of the Company.
In 2025, the Company divested its shares in the Subsidiary, PT Lancar Wiguna Sejahtera (Lawson). Therefore, at the end of 2025, our store network has reached 2,587 outlets consisting of 2,503 Alfamidi outlets, 80 Alfamidi super outlets, and 4 Midi fresh outlets, which spread throughout Indonesia, including Java, Kalimantan, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Maluku with more than 30,000 employees who are ready to serve millions of Indonesia’s customers.
